About the Association

We are a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network creating and strengthening partnerships between Seattle and Nantes in an effort to increase global cooperation at the municipal level, promote cultural understanding, and support educational exchanges.

We motivate and empower private citizens, municipal officials, and business leaders to conduct long-term programs of mutual benefit.​

Founded in 1980, the Association is composed of individuals and organizations interested in promoting close ties between the people of Seattle and Nantes, France. 

Goals

 

  • To advance educational and cultural relations between Seattle and Nantes

 

  • To inform and educate the public about our sister city
 
Monthly board meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:15pm at the Greenwood Branch of Seattle Public Library. 

Seattle-Nantes is one of Seattle's twenty-one sister cities. The purpose of the Association is to promote educational, cultural, social and other exchanges between the cities of Seattle, United States of America and Nantes, France. Visit seattle.gov to learn more about Seattle's sister cities.
